Okay, you might be able to relate to this next statement.

Here it is:

I’m a homebody.

Love being home. Love staying at home. Love cooking at home. My bathroom is my safe happy place.

That being said, what kind of home do I have?

Okay first, I’m not sure if you do the same thing as me, but do you ever screenshot little inspiration images on your phone? Kind of like keeping a Pinterest board but there is no organization, but only chaos in your phone gallery?

I bring this up because there is a photo in my gallery of what I’m thinking my apartment might one day look like. Here it is:

Picture of apartment

It’s a photo from Instagrammer @riyahamid.

As you see, it’s jumbled artistic comfort. Very livable, nice high ceilings, a casual kind of messiness. If you stayed here that might bother you or it might make you be fearless and you create whatever it is your life needs next! Amazing artwork, great food, something from your to-do list waiting to be done.

Okay, now look at my actual place. Don’t laugh.

The vibe is different right?

I’m a bit of a neat person…a bit…and I am like a turtle who gets distracted very easily when it comes to decorating. I’m talking six months to finally pick a wallpaper print for my kitchen. That kind of slow.

But then again…

Everyone goes at their own pace and sometimes you exist, warmly and happily, in the place between your expectations and reality.

I don’t know but these days my motto is that all the things you see other people achieve online are great, but maybe take a break from anything that makes you feel less accomplished or less beautiful or just…less.

We’re all going somewhere and maybe your own life is what really makes you happy right now, not the expectations you get when scrolling your phone!
